Rumor has it that The Gum was originally published as a literary and humor magazine by students at a small Midwestern liberal arts college in the waning days of the 20th century.

Then, in America’s darkest hour, a group of drunken time-traveling hackers resurrected The Gum‘s disreputable name and launched this blog on a dare in the middle of the night.

Today, The Gum exists as humanity’s last hope for interesting content online, and we welcome new submissions and suggestions. Print is dead, long live The Gum.
